Campaigns

For: Marketing and sales people running lead-generation campaigns

Purpose: Understand what the Campaign module does and how it helps you run campaigns and attribute the leads they bring in

What This Module Does

A campaign is a marketing effort you run to bring in leads — a trade show, an online ad, an email blast, and so on. Each campaign records where it ran (its platforms), its cost, and its dates. When a lead comes in, you can link it to the campaign that generated it, so you can measure which campaigns actually produce business.

The Campaign module lets you:

  • Create campaigns with type, platforms, cost, and dates.
  • Add multiple platforms to a campaign, each with its own actual cost.
  • Attach content (image or video) and supporting files.
  • Search and filter your campaigns.
  • Link leads to campaigns for attribution, and see performance over time.

Main Features (What You Can Do)

1. Create a Campaign

When you create a campaign you enter:

  • Name: required and must be unique for your company.
  • Type: Physical (e.g. a trade show) or Virtual (e.g. an online campaign).
  • Platforms: one or more platforms the campaign ran on, each with an actual cost. For a physical campaign, the cost per platform is required.
  • Location: optional address, state, and country.
  • Content type: optional — image or video — with attachments.
  • Start date and end date: optional.
  • Status: the campaign's current state.

The system generates a unique campaign ID automatically (e.g. CMP1) and records who created it.

2. Create Campaigns in Bulk

You can create several campaigns at once. Each is given the next campaign ID in sequence. This is handy when setting up many campaigns for a season or region together.

3. View and Search Campaigns

You can list campaigns and filter by status, type, or platform, filter by a date range, and search by name, status, or platform name. Each campaign shows its platforms and dates. The list is paginated.

4. Edit a Campaign

You can update a campaign's details, platforms, costs, dates, and attachments. If you change the name, the system checks it is not already used by another campaign in your company.

5. Delete a Campaign

You can delete a campaign only when no lead is linked to it. If any lead is associated with the campaign, deletion is blocked so your attribution data stays intact.
